At UMKC, we understand that cost is often a major factor in selecting a school. That’s why we offer hundreds of scholarships ranging from $500 to full tuition. Some scholarships are awarded automatically*, while others are granted based on a student’s merit or need.

College for Free?
Some students can qualify to have the remainder of their tuition covered after grants and awards. The Roo Advantage Scholarship* is awarded to students from Missouri or Kansas who display appropriate need. This award accounts for any other scholarships and grants you may receive, then automatically covers remaining tuition and fees!
In-State Tuition for All
Not from Missouri or Kansas? You’re one of us now! The Roo Nation Scholarship reduces tuition and fees to the in-state level for all eligible residents of the United States with a 3.0 core GPA or higher.

*Automatic scholarship, outside of the District High School Award, do not stack; you receive only the highest award for which you qualify. Must be enrolled full-time and either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. All first-time college students are considered for these awards with the exception of students in the schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Law.
