Celebrate UMKC with Chancellor Mauli Agrawal!
During his annual State of the University address, Chancellor Agrawal announced news about student success, new facilities development, campus upgrades and research advances — along with other promising details about Kansas City’s university.
“We have real proof of what we are capable of, our successes and positive momentum – and people are paying attention more than ever before,” said Agrawal, who is celebrating his five-year anniversary as chancellor. “To quote a certain two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback from Kansas City: ‘We’re just getting started.’”
STATE OF THE UNIVERSITY HIGHLIGHTS:
Student success: New initiatives have propelled UMKC’s student academic achievement, and our highest retention and graduation rates in the past decade.
Streetcar stop development: The RideKC Streetcar line is coming to UMKC in 2025, and plans are underway for a pedestrian plaza at this final but best stop on the streetcar route.
New facilities: The Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building on the Health Sciences campus and the new School of Medicine Building in St. Joseph will position UMKC as a health-care education leader.
Campus upgrades: Renovations to the UMKC Conservatory and the Miller Nichols Library are among the many upgrades and expansions taking place across campus.
Research growth: Pioneering discoveries and record-breaking external awards have propelled the university’s success and impact across the research spectrum.
